Abigail was an extremely courageous woman. She unselfishly took the blame for her husband's foolish decision to dishonor the king's men. She wisely did not tell Nabal she was searching for King David in order to keep the king from slaughtering him.

God honored Abigail's decisions. She was a gracious, kind, wise woman. I'd proudly stand beside her and call her my spiritual sister.

I believe the Lord is raising up a new breed of leaders. It's those faithful behind-the-scenes men and women who don't have impressive titles. What they do possess is a willingness to serve wherever needed.

We should all carry to our graves a long list of secrets told to us in confidence which have never escaped our lips.
